By: Easton Anderlik This has been a busy week for the Boys State Senate. They passed four bills of varying importance. The Senate believes the most important bill they passed is the one that limits the sales and property tax that county governments can impose (0.2% for property tax and 6% for sales tax). This bill was created in response to the events that led to the unemployment of a large portion of Boys State. They also passed a bill that reinstated Net Neutrality to Obama-era policies. Two relatively minor bills were also passed through the Senate; one made the mammoth the official fossil of Kansas, the other, was intended to allow Boys State delegates to watch the NBA Finals Wednesday night, but it was vetoed by the Boys State counselors.]]>
