As Sunday came to a close 56 delegates had announced their candidacy for office, with a clear majority being federalists. This is to be expected as the majority of delegates have registered as federalist party members, however the position Secretary of State has broken the pattern. Four more Nationalists have announced candidacy than Federalists.
The high number of Federalist candidates will likely lead to an extremely contentious caucus, however they will have a clear advantage in the general elections due to their larger party base. The party association of delegates was set in stone at 8:00 pm June 4th, however additional candidates are likely to emerge until registration closes at 3:00 pm June 5th.]]>
