Staters Union interviews K-State staff

By Julian Kincaid and Raymond Felton The Staters Union It’s no secret that Boys State is a massive machine with a myriad of moving parts. Volunteers dedicate thousands of man-ho119A6840urs a year to make sure that this week-long summer camp can operate efficiently; however, it takes more than that to make sure events happen smoothly and on time. Assisting with this task are the K-State’s Housing and Dining staff, workers who stay over the summer to do contribute to program’s cause and let Staters take full advantage of the facilities at their disposal. “I organize events and assist [people] with getting anything that they need,” says Karis, who works at the front desk of the Marlatt Building. Karis is one of many employees that helps handle administrative tasks within Boys State. Another employee who makes sure Staters have what they need is Tiana, a K-State student who has been working in Kramer Dining Center. “I work here for you guys, I keep things stocked and full and make sure that everything meets your expectations.” A plethora of other workers help out at Boys State, diligently giving Staters their time and labor to help the Boys State Cause. There’s no question that volunteers and Staters alike are truly grateful for their work.]]>
