With a 50/50 split between the Federalist and Nationalist parties one would expect distinct party lines. However, this may not be the case at Boys State of Kansas, as no state has a perfect 50/50 split in conservative and liberal leaning people. The similarities in political ideologies could cause problems with party platforms being too similar and with infighting between party members. Before this year’s Boys State, the party lines have been loosely based on a questionnaire that was taken prior, but this year, parties were chosen at random to create an even split. We will have to see how this grouping of parties impacts the party platforms and differences and similarities between the two.
